Overview
In this document, you will discover information regarding the template settings found on the settings page. It comprehensively outlines and navigates you through the functionalities of each page, elucidating what is accessible within them.
Accessing Template Settings
To reach the Template Settings, select "Settings" from the top right corner of the screen, as indicated in the highlighted section in the image below. Click the corresponding buttons to navigate the specific sections mentioned in this document.
Packing Templates
You have the option to enhance shipping efficiency by customising packing templates. Utilising packing templates is crucial as it eliminates the need to input package details for every order. For instance, if you frequently ship a specific product, you can establish a packing template with its dimensions and weight, selecting it for each relevant order.
Within this page, various fields are outlined as follows:
- Sort Order: Lower numerical values in this field result in higher placement in the drop-down list on despatching pages.
- Template Name: This identifies the template and is beneficial if named descriptively.
- Length (cm): The measurement from one end to the other in centimetres.
- Width (cm): The measurement from side to side in centimetres.
- Height (cm): The measurement from top to bottom in centimetres.
- Weight (kg): The weight of the package in kilograms.
- Opt: Enabling the "Total Order Weight" option overrides the order weight with the template's specified value. For example, selecting a template with this option at the packing terminal adjusts the entire order's weight accordingly.
- Trash Bin Icon: Permits template deletion.
By clicking the "Create Template" tab at the top right corner, new templates can be generated from scratch, utilising the same fields described above. Once all fields are populated, click "Create Packaging" to save the template.
Logo Templates
Uploading a logo is a straightforward process that can add a professional touch to your emails and printed documents. Once you've uploaded the logo, you can easily insert it into your email templates or packing slips using the appropriate placeholders. This page enables you to upload and manage your company's logo for use in email and printing templates.
To upload a logo, click the "Upload Logo Image" button and select the image file from your computer. Please note that the supported file formats are JPG and PNG.
After selecting the image file, the logo will be uploaded to your account and appear on the "Logo Templates" page. You can click on the file to preview the image's contents or use the red trash can icon to remove it if necessary.
Email Templates
Orders facilitate email confirmation for every despatched order, containing details such as the courier, tracking number, and a direct link to track the shipment if the courier permits. In cases where direct URLs to shipment tracking pages are not allowed, an alternative direct URL to the courier's tracking page will be provided.
For customisation, you can tailor the appearance and content of your confirmation emails using email templates. It allows flexibility in presenting different templates for each sales channel and is particularly advantageous for businesses operating multiple websites under various names, brands, or entities. The customisation extends to aligning the email template with your brand's aesthetic.
You can view and manage templates in the Templates tab, including the default one. Options such as "Edit," "Clone," or "Delete" are available for the default template, and you can create additional templates using the "Create Template" tab on the top right corner of the page.
For efficiency, cloning a template streamlines the building process, retaining the general structure, including company logos, headers, and footers.
The Drag and Drop editor, featuring a graphical interface, simplifies template customisation. Each structure can only contain one content type, such as text or images. The "Structure" tab allows you to drag suitable layout structures onto the canvas to create or modify sections.
Hovering over elements on the canvas provides options like deleting or duplicating, and plus icons add elements above or below. Content is added through the "Content" tab, offering various options in the "Basic" and "Premade" tabs.
Flexibility is further enhanced as you can modify content settings easily by accessing the right panel. The "Settings" tab allows font settings, template size, colour, and more adjustments.
These features offer full control over the appearance and style of your email template, allowing you to customize it according to your branding and communication preferences.
Printing Templates
This functionality enables uploading personalised invoice layouts for printing receipts and shipping labels. This section lets you view all templates currently stored in your account.
For those acquainted with the Smarty template engine, the code editor allows the creation of more intricate templates. Smarty, a template engine facilitating dynamic content generation, empowers you to incorporate complex logic and apply formatting to your templates. To delve deeper into Smarty's syntax and functions, consult the Smarty documentation page. Once you've crafted your custom template using the code editor, it becomes accessible for printing receipts and shipping labels.
To upload a print template, initiate the process by clicking the "Upload File" button and selecting the file from your computer. Upon selection, the file is uploaded to your account and displayed on the page. You can click on the file to download and review its contents or utilise the red trash can icon to remove it if necessary.
You can edit .tpl files just like .html files using any HTML editor, such as Notepad++, TextWrangler, or Dreamweaver.
To maintain file integrity, only the "default" portion of the file name should be changed. For example, the default invoice file is named a4.default.invoice.tpl. When renaming, you can only change "default," resulting in a name like a4.TestRename.invoice.tpl. Renaming it to something like a4.default.custominvoice.tpl will not work.
