This documentation is a comprehensive guide for users navigating the FedEx Web Service Integration process. It details the steps for acquiring test credentials for initial testing and production credentials for a smooth transition to deploying their integration into FedEx's web service environment. Users will follow step-by-step instructions for registration, key acquisition, and label verification, ensuring a successful integration into FedEx's web service environment.
Testing Phase: Getting Test Credentials
Register on the Test Environment through the "FedEx Developer Resource Centre" website to initiate the testing phase for your FedEx Web Service Integration. Follow these steps:
- Visit the FedEx homepage at https://www.fedex.com/en-gb/home.html and log in to your account.
- Navigate to the FedEx Developer Resource Centre at https://www.fedex.com/en-us/developer.html.
- Click on the "Develop and Test" link.
- Select "Get your Test Key" to access the registration form.
- Provide your Company Information and agree to the License Authorisation.
- For UK-based users, choose 'United Kingdom' for intra-country shipping testing or your actual country of FedEx account origin. Do not select "US & Global."
- Copy or screenshot the partial test credentials (test key, meter, and account number) displayed on the screen.
- Your test password will be sent separately to the email address registered on the Company Information screen.
- The combination of Test Key, Password, Meter Number, and Account Number constitutes your Test Credentials for use in the Test Environment. Send requests to https://wsbeta.fedex.com:443/web-services.
Certification Phase: Getting Production Credentials
Upon completing the development and testing phase and ensuring satisfaction with your test label, follow the steps below to obtain Production Credentials:
- Log in to https://FedEx.com.
- Notify your FedEx Customer Technology Representative that you are ready to move to production, and be prepared to provide images of your Test Labels.
- Visit the FedEx Developer Resource Centre at https://www.fedex.com/en-us/developer.html.
- Click on "Move to Production."
- Choose "Get Production Key."
- Complete the Application Profile Screen and agree to the Terms & Conditions.
- Provide your Account number and Company Information on the Contact Info Screen.
- Copy down the Production Key and Meter Number displayed on the screen.
- Your Production Password will be emailed to the registered email address on the Company Information screen.
- Email your Production Key to your Customer Technology Field representative, who will temporarily enable it for shipping.
- Update the URL for live requests to https://ws.fedex.com:443/web-services.
- Generate a set of shipping labels and email them to your Customer Technology Field representative for review.
- You will be certified for shipping on the Production Server upon meeting all FedEx requirements.
