OpenCart V3 Setup Guide

To set up an OpenCart V3 sales channel on Despatch Cloud, you will need to follow these steps:

Installing the Module

To install the Despatch Cloud extension, you must first add the necessary files to your OpenCart installation. Here's how:

  • Download the zip file (opencartv3.zip) and unzip it using a program like WinRAR or 7-Zip.
  • Connect to your OpenCart root folder using an FTP program such as FileZilla (you can get the host, username, and password from your web hosting service). Alternatively, you can use a file manager provided by your web hosting platform to upload the folders.
  • Upload the "catalog" and "admin" folders to your OpenCart installation folder.

Once the files are in place, you can proceed with installing the extension.

Installing the Extension

To obtain these credentials, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your OpenCart Admin Panel.

2. Navigate to the Systems -> Users -> API from the Menu Bar.

3. Click on the Plus button.

4. Enter a name in "API Name" field and click on the "Generate" button. Also, select the "Enabled" option for "Status"

5. Copy the API Key and click on the floppy disk icon to Save.

Now you have the Name and API Key which you could enter in the required field to setup your Opencart Channel on Despatch Cloud. But there are other steps that you need to take which we will explain following.

Note: In the "Domain" field please enter the store URL.

6. Navigate to the Extensions -> Extensions from the Menu Bar.

7. Select "Modules" from the "Extension Type" drop-down list.

8. Scroll down to find the Despatch Cloud extension and click on the plus button next to it then wait till the extension installation is done.

8. Now click on the pencil menu related to the Despatch Cloud extension.

9. Set the "Status" as "Enabled" and enter the copied API Key into the "API Key" field.

10. Click on the floppy disk icon to Save.

Installing the OpenCart Sales Channel

1. Click the "Settings" button in the bottom left corner of the screen after logging into Despatch Cloud.

2. In the Settings menu, navigate to the "Sales Channels" section and select the integration you want to install.

3. From the list of available sales channel integrations, select the OpenCart option.

4. In the form that appears, you will need to fill out several fields:

Name: In the provided field, you can enter any name you desire. However, it is recommended to choose a name that has meaning to you, such as "OpenCart", as it will serve as an apparent reference for the source of the order in the future.

Hostname: This is where you should enter the name of your store, as it will appear in the URL. Such as "https://hostname.com/".

As for the "API Key" sections, please enter the information obtained from OpenCart platform, as previously shown. It is essential to ensure that these fields are filled in correctly to access your account.

5. After you have filled out all the relevant fields, click the "Submit" button. 

6. Once the channel is created successfully, you will receive a message confirming this on the top-right corner of your screen.
